The Common Beer Company

Let’s face it, great brews start from the beginning, and we pride ourselves on utilizing only the best local ingredients to deliver the quality you expect.

We are redefining the local place where you hang out with your friends and family. Incredible atmosphere, friendly faces, great food, and exceptional drinks.

Ultimately, how a brew tastes makes all the difference and we have come up with some amazing unique flavors that will delight your entire crew.

MADE Chamber and community involvement:

  • Local Charity Donations 150+ (for example, Adaptive Ball field project, SAFE of Main, Live Like Maya and continued profit-sharing with   The Common Ground Playground)

  •  Activators with the Mason Mile Project Team

  •  Member of the American Legion

  •  Annual participant of Music on the Square, Red, Rhythm and Boom and Heritage Festival events

  •  Downtown community leaders

  •  Volunteers and sponsors of Mason athletic teams

Why is being part of the Mason Deerfield Chamber important to you/your organization?

Prior to be being members, in 2017 we approached Sherry Taylor with our idea to open a brewery in downtown Mason. We needed help finding a location. Sherry (literally) walked the streets with and for us trying to find a property owner that might be willing to sell. She was dedicated to helping us every step of the way. Since then, we have been proud members of a Chamber that has gone to great lengths to ensure that we are known to the community, and they have been a wonderful conduit for us to make a difference for the business and private communities of Mason.

Fun facts about you/your business:

It all started with a Father’s Day gift in 2011. Mark already had a love for craft beer, so Maggie and Amy thought a home brewing kit would be a perfect gift for Mark (maybe even a new "hobby"?). With the garage and kitchen no longer being desired as an option for brewing, here we are, 5 years later and that hobby has grown into a real passion for the entire family.

Like the emerald, businesses and organizations have many facets. Which facet is your strength and why?

Besides making great beer? We feel our staff and establishment create the exact environment that we were hoping it would. Our goal was to provide an atmosphere where all feel welcome, and conversations happen organically. Our business mantra is "If you don't already know someone that is here, then we want you to leave having met someone new."

If your company culture, or personal persona, had to be summed up in five words or less, reflective of a gemstone, what would they be?

Good-humored, all-welcoming, community, talented and evolving
