Meet Your 2019 Pink Diamond Award Nominees

I am a native of Ohio, growing up in Mt. Healthy. A few years after graduating high school I moved to Tucson, Arizona and lived there for 28 years. During that time, I worked for Rural/Metro Corporation, a large Fire/EMS organization and held several positions including Community Manager, Public Relations and Communications Dispatch Manager

After leaving fire and EMS I turned my attention towards geriatric care management where I provided guidance & advocacy for clients and their families. The position allowed me to advocate for dignity, independence and quality of life for the mature adult and their families. I spend a few years in this role and truly enjoyed helping people.

My heart then drew me back to Ohio 10 years ago, to be near family. At that time, I joined Hillandale Family of Communities as the Director of Community Relations & Marketing Operations. I have two sons, 5 grandchildren and 3 dachshunds and we love being together.

Like the ruby, businesses and organizations have many facets that must be polished to maintain brilliance. Which facet is your strength and why?

I believe my strength is listening to people and really hearing what they are saying. That may sound corny but if you don’t really listen then you will not understand. My strength is taking information and putting all the pieces together to find the ultimate solution or idea.

If your personal persona, had to be summed up in five words or less, reflective of a gemstone, what would they be?

Like the ruby, businesses and organizations have many facets that must be polished to maintain brilliance. Which facet is your strength and why?

I feel that my strength is to seek to understand and be respectful of others.  I was raised to treat others as I would like to be treated.  Respecting and understanding others has enabled me to build good and trusting relationships.  I believe another one of my strength is taking those relationships and helping other businesses to connect and build a supportive network.
