Dana Martin

Kings Local Schools, 2023 Excellence in Education Finalist

MADE Chamber & Community Involvement:

  • In the Kings community, I take immense pride in my active involvement, particularly in supporting our students' growth and development. I find joy in attending students’ extra-curricular activities, as it allows me to support and encourage their passions outside the classroom. Whether it's cheering on the soccer team during their matches, attending art exhibitions showcasing their creative talents, or being present at music recitals where their hard work shines through, I believe in the power of showing unwavering support. By being a dedicated presence at these events, I aim to not only demonstrate my commitment to their success but also to inspire them to pursue their interests wholeheartedly. Through my community involvement, I hope to foster a sense of unity and motivation among the students, reinforcing the idea that their pursuits are valued and celebrated by the entire community.

Fun Facts About You/Your Business:

  • I'm an avid reader. I typically read 10 books a week. I also run my own friend's mobile library. My duties include stocking and restocking books based on the reader’s likes and dislikes.

  • Additionally, my birthstone is the sapphire so I’m humbled to be honored the same year as the beautiful blue sapphire.

Why is being part of the Mason Deerfield Chamber important to you/your organization?

Like the sapphire, businesses and organizations have many facets. Which facet is your strength and why?

If your company culture, or personal persona, had to be summed up in five words or less, reflective of a
gemstone, what would they be?

Being part of the Mason Deerfield Chamber holds significant importance for Kings Local Schools due to the mutual benefits it offers to both the educational institution and the broader community. The Chamber provides a platform for collaboration and engagement between the school district and local businesses, fostering a mutual relationship that enriches the educational experience for students. Ultimately, this collaboration helps Kings Local Schools nurture well-rounded, career-ready graduates and contributes to the vitality and prosperity of the Mason Deerfield area as a whole.

My strength lies in the area of motivation and, like the sapphire, possesses various facets that contribute to its overall brilliance. I also believe in the power of inspiring and encouraging individuals to reach their full potential, whether they are part of a district level committee, a leader in a school building or a new administrator. I aim to illuminate the strengths and talents of those around me by tapping into their motivations and fostering a positive environment. I help individuals discover their own brilliance and push their boundaries. My approach involves understanding their aspirations, addressing challenges, and guiding them towards their goals. Like the multifaceted sapphire, my ability to motivate others adds depth and vitality to the district, and a thriving atmosphere of achievement and growth.

Unique, Brilliant, Priceless, Clarity
