Every gem has something that makes it shine. What would you say is your greatest strength or “sparkle,” and how does it show up in your/your organizations work?
My “sparkle” is seeing possibilities, especially in people. I genuinely enjoy recognizing a strength or talent in someone that they may not see in themselves yet and finding a way to encourage them to use it. I’m also an idea person. I love looking at something and asking, “What if we tried this?” But I’ve learned that a good idea is only the beginning. The real magic happens when you bring the right people together, give them ownership, and let their talents make the idea better than you originally imagined. Whether it’s in real estate, Rotary or our community, I hope my sparkle shows up by helping people feel valued, connected and confident enough to step forward and make a difference.
A Bit About Jean Raga
Jean Raga is a Realtor, Rotarian, community volunteer, wife and mother who believes that when you see potential in a person or an idea, you should do something about it.
A Mason-Deerfield area resident for more than 30 years, Jean has spent 25 + years in real estate, building and leading a team, managing an office of more than 70 Realtors, and creating a weekly training program to help agents grow their skills and confidence. She has also mentored students through Mason High School’s Experiential Learning Program.
Jean believes in showing up for her community. She is an active Mason Deerfield Chamber member and two-year sponsor of its Women of Impact Series. She serves on the Deerfield Township Board of Zoning Appeals, where she has twice served as President.
A Past President of the Rotary Club of Mason-Deerfield, Jean has sponsored 13 new members and takes particular pride in helping others discover their own leadership potential, including encouraging four past, current and future club presidents. She will serve as Rotary District 6670 Governor in 2028–2029.
Jean is also the visionary behind Rotary’s Christmas Tree Auction & Holiday Ball. Those who know her recognize the words, “I’ve been thinking…” as the beginning of another idea, opportunity or adventure.
Jean’s greatest joy comes from bringing people together, helping others shine, and turning possibilities into something meaningful for her community.

What does being part of the Mason-Deerfield business community mean to you?

If your company culture, or personal persona, had to be summed up in five words or less, reflective of a
gemstone, what would they be?
Mason-Deerfield is more than the community where I do business, it’s home. Being part of this business community means building relationships, supporting one another, and recognizing that when our businesses, schools, nonprofits and community organizations work together, we all become stronger. Some of my favorite connections have started with a simple conversation at a Chamber Coffee or Happy Hour and grown into friendships, partnerships and opportunities to serve. I believe a strong community doesn’t just happen; it happens because people choose to show up, get involved and invest in one another. I’m proud to be one of those people.
Before becoming a Realtor, I was a clinical chemist. I developed a screening test for Cystic Fibrosis and helped start a liver transplant laboratory; so my career path from chemistry to real estate has definitely not been a straight line!
My family and friends know that the words “I have an idea…” can be dangerous. They have resulted in everything from community murals and fundraising events to projects that became much bigger than originally planned.
I love bringing people together. Whether it’s around a dinner table, at a Rotary event, or for a new community project, there is a pretty good chance I’m already thinking about who else should be invited.
