Every gem has something that makes it shine. What would you say is your greatest strength or “sparkle,” and how does it show up in your/your organizations work?

Our people, without question. We've intentionally built Junk King Cincinnati around a culture where people can come in, work hard, grow and see a future for themselves. Some of our team members have been with us for years, and we've watched employees grow from working on our trucks into management roles. We make a point to recognize our people, celebrate what they contribute and promote from within whenever we can. Taking care of our team isn't something we do on the side of running the business...it's a big part of how we run the business.

A Bit About Junk-King Cincinnati

Junk King Cincinnati is a locally owned and operated junk removal company built around two things: taking care of people and finding a better way to handle the things we no longer need. The team provides residential and commercial junk removal throughout Greater Cincinnati, sorting everything that comes back to its facility and recycling, repurposing or donating as much as possible. Through relationships with more than 50 local nonprofits, usable items have an opportunity to find a second home rather than a landfill. Just as important is the culture behind the company. Junk King Cincinnati believes in investing in its people, recognizing their contributions and creating opportunities to grow, with team members advancing from working on trucks into management positions. For Junk King Cincinnati, doing good starts with its team and extends into the communities it serves.

If your company culture, or personal persona, had to be summed up in five words or less, reflective of a
gemstone, what would they be?

Being part of the Mason-Deerfield business community means being invested in the people and organizations around us. We're fortunate to have built relationships with more than 50 local nonprofits that help us give usable items a second life and keep as much as possible out of the landfill. But community starts inside our own walls, too. We're proud to create jobs, develop our people and give team members opportunities to build careers right here in the communities we serve.

Every load that comes back to our facility is sorted, allowing us to recycle, repurpose or donate as much as possible. Depending on what we bring in, we're able to divert up to 100% of a load from the landfill.

We work with more than 50 local nonprofits. Those relationships help us find new homes and uses for items our customers no longer need, turning junk removal into an opportunity to do some good in our community.

We believe strongly in developing and promoting our people from within, and we've had team members work their way from being on a truck into management positions.
